I am an ISM registered, DBS checked, classical/opera singer and music teacher.
I studied at the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland (BMus Hons 1st Class) and the Guildhall School of Music and Drama (MPerf Distinction) and am now working as a freelancer in London.
My teaching style is based in classical vocal technique, specialising in teaching classical Art Song and opera repertoire, however, lessons are tailored to the needs and wishes of each individual student and I also teach musical theatre and other styles such as jazz and folk music.
Focus is always placed on the importance of breathing technique and body awareness for natural vocal production, finding your true sound and the confidence to unleash it.
Above all, I believe that singing should be rewarding, engaging, and fun!
I have 5+ years of teaching experience, working with students of all ages and abilities. I mostly teach 1:1 but have also taught small and larger groups, and am experienced working with students with Additional Support Needs.
For students who wish to take part in examinations, I work from the Associated Board of the Royal Schools of Music syllabus.

'Professional. Persistent. Very knowledgeable.' - Michael H
'Myrna is absolutely fabulous. She is friendly, welcoming, her instructions were clear, and I always felt in good hands while being taught by her. Most importantly she was very helpful in my audition prep for a role in a musical theatre show and I am very happy to say that I got the part. [...] I am very grateful to her input and would definitely recommend.' - Omiros V
First singing has been amazing with Myrna! I hadn't sung in 7 years but she gave me really good advice from lesson 1 which helped me to get back on tracks quicker than expected!' - Héloïse G
